July 9-16
August 9-19
September 11-8

What time period were you talking about?

Okay, another win over the 'Stros. Just what the hell is going on here?

ChiefsCountry 09-23-2023 09:09 PM

Royals young guys playing in a sold out Minute Maid Park in basically almost a playoff atmosphere can only do well for them in the future

Royals getting hot?? They do this every September…. It’s like clockwork

Are we really excited for MacArthur?? A guy who has a 6 plus ERA…

Last 9 appearances, 12 innings, 0 ER, 2 hits, 13 K, 0 BB. They worked with him on his slider. He's dominating good hitters. His first outing he gave up 7 runs and blew up his ERA. His season ERA is meaningless.

Likely nothing.

They are so close to competitive. If Sherman spends this offseason, they will take the division next year.
My wish list, albeit completely unrealistic:
A corner OF: Bellinger
Two stud SPs: Montas, Montgomery
2-4 RPs: Hader, Hicks, Lopez, Fulmer/Stephenson

About 100m in annual added in payroll to get back to the playoffs. Demonstrate willingness to invest in the team to build community support for that new ballpark.

I'd love to get on the MacArthur train to greatness, but even as well as he's done in recent weeks, it is still damn hard for me to completely dismiss his not even mediocre minor league career. He wasn't even great in his college career.

But when you're 6'7" and can throw hard, you'll land a job somewhere.

If he's "found it". That would be an incredibly remarkable turn of events. Again, would love to see it, but I'm not counting on it at all.

Nothing, baseball happened. This team will be out of it by the end of May next season again.

The hopeful part with both him and Ragans is that they just didn't come here and start blowing up. The coaching staff made a bunch of adjustments with both of them. It's not the kind of thing the Royals had success with in the past. With McArthur they made him add a slider. His curveball is already pretty nasty.

Even Kowar admitted in an article the other day he'd been hard headed but he was trying some things the coaching staff wanted. It had been working until the other night.

Perhaps the biggest point of optimism from last season to this is the players being willing to accept coaching from the new staff.
