Calories - the theory is that the small portions keep calories down & the protein & fiber keep you feeling full.

Carbs - If you fill your diet with foods that are high in fiber, you'll be eating whole grains & veggies (in lieu of processed grains and sugars) for your carbs + the protein.

I realize this is extremely simple & most of you will flip out & hate it, but I thought it was a pretty good rule of thumb for those who hate the idea of counting calories or trying to track ratios. This little rule is actually how I got started.

I don't think anyone would fault this logic. I don't think Silock has anything against eating this way, his point is that it is still all calories in/calories out.

Now, these things help to eat healthier and limit calories. They are rules to help you cut your calories without counting them.

Tonight is back/biceps.....

Fun night. As I can do more pullups, this day gets MORE fun....lol.

It wasn't as much fun when I was struggling to get a single pull up.

All extra energy that isn't used turns to fat, whether it's carbs or protein (or alcohol -- but that's really a different subject, as it's hard for the body to convert alcohol to fat, and most of it is used right away for energy which causes you to burn less of other fuels).

By the way I weighed in at 298.0 today. Down from 310.6 exactly 1 week ago.

Just got back from the Gym. Was going to do a 30 minute cardio sesh but once 30 minutes was up I was feeling so good I went for 10 more minutes. I think I'm getting my lungs back. Too much smoking.

Hour 23 of the fast. I'll probably just go ahead and wait until morning to eat.

Mr. Flopnuts 05-17-2010 07:26 PM

I ended up eating lunch today at work. Stupid. I totally could've made it until 7pm tonight. Tomorrow I'm lifting so I'll be having a protein shake in the morning. Wednesday to Thursday will be my next opportunity. I just wrapped one up last night, so I'm half way there. 500 calories today, and I'll eat around 600-700 for dinner max. I'm weighing everything this week because I want to see some pounds off of the scale. No excuses this week.

Just had the 2 most delicious skinless chicken thighs ever.

Not sure if they were great or if I was just starving and wanting protein bad.

So far today I am at 308 calories, my workout burned 658 (supposedly) and my BMR is 2699.

Thats a total loss of 3049 calories today.

**** Year

Link? All i've ever seen is "obese".

I'm about 10 lbs away from "overweight"!

I am getting mad respect at the gym..... Seriously, I guess everyone is impressed that a scrawny white guy is willing to work so hard not to be scrawny.... kinda stuck being white though.

I finally feel like I am putting up enough weight not to be embarrassed.... so that's good.

I'm 10lbs away from being 'healthy'.

It is just funny, because if anyone meets me and they find out I am 'dieting'... they wonder why. No one I meet thinks I am 'overweight'.

Nice :)

Although, **** what other people think. **** them for judging just because you're not lifting as much weight as they are.
