People said the same thing about Hos and Moose’s walkoffs in 2012.

Three years later, Hos would hit a walk off in a World Series.

Perez’s offense was a huge surprise. He was a tremendous defensive catcher who was expected to be a Martin Maldonado type (plus-plus D, meh bat).

They moved Myers off of C because his bat was so advanced, they didn’t want to hold him back for the time it would take his defense to catch up.

I recall Perez's defense was MLB ready when he was in the minors, but his bat was meh.

Move them all to the next level together. Build that championship mentality.

I came in here just to say the same thing. I haven’t gotten to watch a lot of baseball this year, but box score is starting to look a lot closer to what i wanted to see. Mix in a few more walks and I’d be ecstatic.

I’ve also heard people say O’Hearn isn’t close to his production. What’s a legitimate expectation for him? Low average but above average OPS?

It’s hard to peg what O’Hearn will actually be. He was inconsistent as a minor leaguer.

The power looks real - especially with the major league ball. He could be another player like Merrifield, who took a long track to the majors but made one final adjustment and took the next step.

Or he could be a flash in the pan.

Ok Duncan, trade proposal, rate it:

Mondesi straight up for Nick Senzel

It's too bad Matias couldn't finish the year healthy playing a part in this run. As negative as I often am I'm excited for Matias, Pratto, Isbel, Melendez, Lynch, and Kowar. Hopefully Singer also hits the ground running next year.

Isn't that what the last group did?

I was all aboard the suck for #1 pick train, but I see the value in positive results at this point. Especially because, from everything I've read, there's no clear generational superstar at the top of the draft.

Yep it sure is and it turned out pretty well I'd say.

We'd probably get the baseball equivalent of Eric Fischer.

I’d prefer to not slip past number 2. Miami is around 6 games out of that slot.
