His lack of explosiveness and ability to play above the rim (he can't even dunk - I've literally never even seen him dunk in the warmup line) make me wonder why anyone in the NBA would draft him.

He has G-League/Europe written all over him. With NIL he should think about staying, but I wish him all the best. Hopefully he goes out a 2-Time Defending National Champion.

We're talking about different things. You're talking about the ncaa tournament seeding, where we will be a #1 seed, but right now Houston and Alabama are ahead of us and fighting us for the no. 1 overall seed in the ncaa tournament. Which is huge because if Houston gets it they play in the regional bracket which runs through kc and we wouldn't.

We're talking about being the #1 or #2 seed in the big 12 tournament rather than Texas, who we would end up tied with if they beat tcu tonight and us on Saturday. That's less significant, and I'm just wondering as it effects what time we might play throughout the week in the big 12 tourney in kc next week.

Yeah, I'm not really sure what Wilson is theoretically at the next level.

I don't think he shoots it near well enough to play there yet. Maybe that changes, but he's not exactly super athletic either.

If Wilson sticks in the NBA, Kyle Anderson is his comp.

Anderson has really improved his 3 point shooting over his pro career, which is what Wilson would need to do too.

Wilson has a nice looking shot, but just needs to find the consistency or learn to stop shooting when it isn’t falling.

huh? I'm pretty sure the last time we played in a first and second round in KC we breezed right through those two games. And we won it all in KC in '88. I'm not sure KU has ever played in a regional in KC, have they?

Looks like regionals have been played in KC in:

T-Mobile: '23, '19, '17
Kemper: '95, '92, '86, '83
Municipal: '51, '50, '49, '48, '47, '46, 45, '44, and '43

Now I have to go back and look and see which one's KU played in...

We lost to Oregon in 2017 in KC. That was just a bad matchup and a bad night though.

The size of their guards was a problem for Mason and Graham.

Damn, '95 we lost our first game in KC against Virginia. I was a high school sophomore though and wasn't really following the team back then.

'17 and '92 we didn't even make it back home :(

You have to go back to 1986, when we would go on to lose to Duke in the Final Four in Dallas. That's not a great track record playing at home.

I just looked up '83 (the only other one before we go back to Municipal Auditorium, but the only thing I've seen play at Municipal was Green Day and some exhibition bball where I think Duke and MU played although not against each other).

That happens to be the last year KU had a losing record, and they failed to make the tournament that year.
