I disagree. Bypassing Houston is important, and a strong showing against Texas on Saturday night be enough.

Houston won’t make the e8. S16 is a stretch.

They haven’t played anyone all season.

So looks like we'll play the 8/9 winner around 2pm on Thursday. Probably WVU or Texas Tech. Not quite what we're accustomed to on the second day of the tournament, but at least whoever it is will have played the night before.

I'm saying if we aren't the number 1 overall seed we may not be in the Midwest as Houston appears to be about a 3 hour closer drive to kc than Louisville. You know Bill Self wants the no 1 overall, and beating Texas on the road is a statement game.

Im probably not in the majority on this but I could care less if we pass Houston or even Alabama for that matter.

If WVU wins against KSU at home (likely for me given their tourney hopes are on the line) and OSU loses to Tech on the road, it'll be the winner of OSU/Tech.

Yep, saturday would be a good day for the Hawks to lay a turd and get it out of their system. Obviously you want to win them all but, if we drop a game the rest of the year I'd rather it be that one since it no longer means anything.

I expect KU to play pretty well without any pressure on them on Saturday. Far better than they have the past two games where the B12 was on the line. I also don't expect Self to bench anybody.

15 Quad 1 wins plus winning one of the strongest conferences ever outright with a game to spare. No one has a resume like KU.

So cute that they threw in Quad 2 wins. Like this makes Houston's case stronger and that it's more of a toss up decision. But I guess they had to since most of Houston's conference is probably Quad 2.

KU should be the overall #1 seed. Its just people cant get past the predictive metrics...which should not matter when it comes to seeding. Houston likely the better team but KU has the results so that doesn't even matter. Theyve earned it by going thru the gauntlet and winning those close games.

Yeah Self is oldschool. He definitely wont bench. I think we are locked in at #1 no matter what so I would rest everyone especially the banged up guys but I know college coaches and Self in particular just wont

I hope he’ll at least give the bench guys more PT against Texas.

I want to see a lot more Udeh than Adams. More MJ Rice. More Zuby.

Same with Pettiford and Yesufu.

It’s not often that you get a chance to give guys this kind of experience with no real risk.

It’s actually mostly Quad 3 and 4. The AAC is that bad. And what that graphic doesn’t show is they have a Q3 loss. Their resume is poor compared to other major conference contenders and it is a bit strange to me they are even projected to have a #1 seed, let alone possibly being above KU.

Now the predictive metrics are obviously good but blowing out bad teams all year shouldn’t be what seeding is based on.

Sooooo.....

KU has played 24 out of 30 games against Quad 1/2 teams; we are 19-5 in those games and our worst loss is against a top 15 team.

I really don't even understand why there is a discussion on who should be seeded #1 overall between KU & Houston. It's not even really close.

I’d still go for the win on Saturday just to be sure. Never leave the Midwest until the final 4 is worth it over getting bench players more playing time.
