If Geno is going to pan out, keep Chase as the backup and move Alex for a pick.

Don't you have to spend nearly all of it this year by the new collective agreement?

you dont have to spend all, IIRC

i think you can come under by 13 million (more than 10 milly fore sure)

edit; and actually it is not enforced yearly, its every 4 years...so theoretically you could spend way less for 2 seasons then blow it out for 2

I see. Thought it was tighter to the cap than that.

Me as well, I'm just afraid it would cost a fortune to find out.

89% per 4 year period

so hypothetically at 121 million per year x 4 years = 484 million cap

89% of 484 million = 430 million

so over the next 4 years we could under spend by 54 million, in any combination ......(works out to an avg of 13.5 million tho)

After fretting for 2 weeks I have decided that every move made so far was the right one. I'm ok with one of the tackles at #1, but I would choose Fisher. If Albert can't be moved I take Manuel. Forget Geno, he's not going to work out. Wish we could trade down would love to have Austin.

Smith is the right QB...got to be a veteran in our division...in the conference period frankly. There won't be another Luck.

Keep Albert

Trade down and take Ansah or Jordan

With the second round pick we get back from trading down draft Manuel.

I still think that is a viable plan.

A 1st, 2nd, and conditional draft pick is really not to much to invest in the QB position.

The Giants gave up two 1st, a 3rd, and a 5th to get Eli.

The Redskins gave up three 1st's and a 2nd for RGIII.

The Raiders gave up a 1st and a 2nd for Carson Palmer.

JMO

EDIT: Money for 2013 would be around 13.5 million.

8.5 for Alex
4.0 for Geno (maybe a tad more, but that is what Luck got last year)
1.8 for Chase

In 2014 it could go as high as 17-18 million

9.0 for Alex
5.0 for Geno
3.4 for Chase

BUT, none of Alex's is guaranteed for 2014 so a lot of that money could be freed up next offseason.

...then spend our 2nd rounder on a LT.

I absolutely cannot wait until draft day. It's gonna be like Christmas morning, the meltdown on this board is going to be a sight to see.
