But I must say I grew up on Disney.

Disney put out a series of VHS tapes several years back that had a lot of the old Mickey/Minnie/Goofy cartoons that were so popular when we were kids. Even though my kids are older now, we still keep the tapes (until they come out on DVD) to occasionally drag them out to watch.

Looney Tunes (Bugs, Daffy, Sylvester, etc)
Rocky & Bullwinkle (Still crack me up)
Johnny Quest (Is Hadji an insurgent now?)
Popeye (Well Blow Me Down! WTF?)
Yogi Bear (Is Boo Boo Illegitimate?)

I know a lot of you like Disney, but I don't think Walt would like the meglo-mania greedy marketing Michael Eisner World Domination Disney Corporation. They've gotten waaaaay out of control.

Also, Looney Tunes didn't sell out (aka "Space Jam") until AFTER Mel Blanc kicked.

Looney Tunes
Merrie Melodies
Ultraman
Speed Racer
Hanna Barbera (snagglepuss, Huckleberry Hound,Yogi bear, Penelope Pitstop, Jetsons. etc)
MrMcGoo
Dudley Doright
Fat Albert
ScoobyDoo
Rocky and Bullwinkle

Peanuts Specials

I never missed Space Ghost. Well at least when I didn't have to go to F'ing catechism on Saturday morning.

I disagree to some extent.....

I think if Walt were alive today, there wouldn't have been the lean years that Disney had before Eisner came along. Much as he is reviled, if it weren't for Michael Eisner, The Disney Corporation might have gone into the tank, especially with Roy running the company.

While I think that Disney is more about the money now, than quality of entertainment, they still know how to put out good family fare. And face it, who would you rather have owning Disney....the present situation, Roy Disney, Rupert Murdoch or Ted Turner?

They have at some level, maintained some of Walts' dream, but in cases where it means more money, they have modified it a little.

No contest - Doug.

Let's so, there were so many. I remember scheduling life around cartoons when I was a kid.

Okay, when I was little (and I know I'm going to catch hell for this) :
Care Bears
My Little Pony
Smurfs
Jem and the Holograms
Pound Puppies
GI Joe
Transformers
Thundercats
Danger Mouse

Then as I got a little older:
Ducktales
Chip and Dale's Rescue Rangers
Talespin
X-Men
The Tick
The Adventures of Batman
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles

There's probably 9,000 more, but I can't think of them now. The real sad part is, I can still remember most of those theme songs.

Transformers and TNMT. Sometimes Voltron (the lions one) - but every episode was the same, heh.

You are super cool.

TMNT, Doug, and Rocko's Modern Life ranked very high on my list.

I also liked Darkwing Duck quite a lot, though I didn't watch it very often.

I wanted to BE Space Ghost. I clearly remember taping typing paper around my forearms and (mentally) shooting death rays at aliens lurking around my house.

Zorak > Tad Ghostal

(God, I loved SGC2C and Cartoon Planet back in the mid-to-late '90s -- too bad music licensing issues keep Cartoon Planet from being aired on Adult Swim or even put on DVD.)
