Sweet news...
|
Carl will soon be announcing his new policy of handing out extensions to any Chiefs player who fires their agent.
Waters' new contract is out on NLFPA.com. Looks like he did pretty good for himself... 2006 - $500,000 2007 - $500,100 2008 - $500,200 2009 - $500,300 2010 - $500,400 2011 - $500,500 Len Pasquarelli is reporting a signing bonus of $600. I would say that this is a pretty cap-friendly deal the first two years, but we may need to re-structure after that. |

Awesome news.

Glad to hear he re-signed with the Chiefs. I was concerned by this, but the FO did a good job of addressing this so he wouldn't become a FA. Props.

Clearly, CP and Hunt don't care about winning. Dammit, Carl! :cuss:
:) |
Now CP needs to lock up LJ's contract, resign T-Rich and restructure Tony G's contract.
|
“I think it’s only smart to retain your own best players first, and then if you have the money and the cap dollars (remaining) to go after free agents,” Peterson said. “You don’t want those guys to ever get to the last year of their contract for fear that you might lose them to free agency."
Awesome, I guess that means Siavii is next!!! |
Great job CP!!

Now, if you soak up existing cap room by giving a 2005 roster bonus with the extension, you can take that off the 05 cap. I expect a structure that includes a 05 roster bonus, AND a signing bonus that is relatively small, so that his 06 cap number is actually VERY reasonable. |
well deserved! awesome news!

Gotta love a player that cuts out the agent.
|
Good deal.
|
I think Tim Grunhardt never used an agent either.
