Definitely Boredom!!!

JBucc 02-06-2006 09:38 AM

I've come across some new information, and I'm changing mine to pirates

They didn't watch 'Surviorman'. If they did, they wouldn't have died.

Gotta go with sunstroke.

As the leading cause of death on deserted islands, or as the reason Rain Man posted this thread?

I can count two movies off hand.

1. The one with Tim Allen and Sigourney Weaver and the guy who plays Monk where they were actors that some aliens thought were real space heroes and asked them to help their doomed civilization. They needed a berilium sphere to power their ship, I believe.

Galaxy Quest. Funny movie...

I hope the "Natives with spears, blowguns, etc." category includes Pirates because that's how I voted. If they are seperate categories, I might have picked something else.

You accidently touch the battery-charging device the Professor constructed while Gilligan is pedaling at full speed and are electrocuted.

THe leading cause of death among people stranded on Islands is watching too much TV.

MOhillbilly 02-06-2006 10:54 AM

Death by human BBQ.

Chuck Norris - he only allows people to live where he wants them to live. That doesn't include uninhabited isles. They're his "secret" place.

Gynosilicosis - Titus, would you please add this word to the lexicon?

My vote is common, easily treatable in civilized society infection.

Absessed tooth...cut/wound infection-gangreen...appendix.

Stupidity and ignorance would probably be the leading cause....ie...not taking advantage of existing resources to sustain their lives.....food, shelter...water.

There is ALWAYS fresh water.....dig a hole 5' up the beach from the sea. The sand will filter it.

Sort of... the sand won't desalinate the water. What you need to do is only dig deep enough to uncover 2 inches of water... this will be fresh water from rain that is on top of the heavier salt water which filters in from the ocean.

...but I doubt most people would know how to do that...

Rain Man 02-07-2006 01:35 PM

Why does it have to be near the beach?
