Though I'm a Big Steve Nash Fan, I still firmly believe Kobe is the MVP. He has shown total dominance not seen since MJ in the late 80's-early 90's. I believe the key is for Kobe to play that controlled style of game, keep it close till the fourth quarter and then unleash the REAL Kobe on the Suns. The kobe that averaged near 40 pts all year long. There is no way the suns will be able to contain him.

Also, they need Lamar Odom to hold Marion in check. Shawn Marion is a key part of their success so as long as they have him playing at like 30% of what he really is, the Lakers should have no problems. But then again, things dont always work out the way you want them to.

How about that Pacers/Nets series? I couldnt help but laugh when Anthony Johnson of all people called out Vince Carter for not being tough. Carter isn't tough at all, not saying he isn't a top flight superstar but tough he is not. So what happens, Carter proceeds to drop 21 pts in the first half last night, cruising to half-time with a comfortable lead. Johnson says "ok, now my turn" and proceeds to make Jason Kidd is B*tch and runs all over the Nets. Carter on the other hand, follows up with a 0/11 FG 2nd half. This series will also hit 7 games.

I haven't seen any of the Pacer/Nets games.

I agree with you on the Kobe/Nash thing. If the Lakers win the series when they were not even supposed to be close to the playoffs and the Suns lose being a 2nd seed and Nash gets MVP that should cause some interest.

I hope somebody listened to me on this. If you did you are looking like you could make a lot of $$$$$. Looks like the Lakers are about to payoff for me at +300. What an amazing weekend for sports. Sharks advance and Lakers pull out another miracle. I gotta tell you it's sure good being a Lakers fan.

WOW, the silence is deafening in here. Where is Goat Cheese to tell me what a POS ball hog Kobe is and how bad the Lakers are? :hmmm:

I fully expect the Suns to come back and and give the Lakers all they can handle. I got the LA feed for after the game and went through all the player interviews. Every one of them sounded like Phil Jackson. Great game very exciting but this thing is far from over blah, blah, blah. I liked when they were asking Walton if he knew it was going in when Kobe hit that last shot. His answer was "I have no idea I was concentrating on getting the rebound and then it just went in"

This series has been by far the most entertaining in the playoffs. Great close games with both teams playing their hearts out and leaving it all on the court.

I wonder if Kobe signed a jersey for the ref after that game.

ROFL

The strip was clean. They had to turn the microphones all the way up to try and hear the timeout a fraction of a second before Walton grabbed the ball. That game was friggen incredible. The Lakers continue to do miraculous things not even Nash made an excuse. This is a team playing with a hell of a lot of heart. That's the typical response I would expect from the Laker haters who have the same story. They only called 3 fouls on Kobe as soon as the game began. There is not officials excuse.

Thomas was amazing for the Suns shooting on that bad knee. He played one hell of a game. Great series.

Guy got raped on that sideline...it was a total joke.

I am not a laker hater...I am not really much of an NBA fan. I kind of like the Mavs because I like Cuban but a few guys were watching the game in the place next to me and that "call" was literally laughable.

Funny, I saw 3 different groups of NBA analysts go over that and all members of all 3 groups said it was clean. They even showed it in slow motion, all ball. The Lakers had to do a lot of things not just one to get back in this game. The incredible 3 pointer from Smush with that hand in his face. The strip the save and the awesome shot by Kobe. Then there was the tie up by Walton, the tip, the drive and the shot. All the Suns had to do was protect the ball and hit free throws and they couldn't. Hell even Nash didn't say say there was a foul. With the officials taking Kobe out for much of the first half and this being a must win game for Phoenix there is no excuse for them losing this game. This is a Lakers team that is not even supposed to be close to the playoffs and a 2nd seed Suns team that is supposed to be dominating. You should have taked some of my advice in this value betting area you may have been able to clean house.

At this point I have got to say I am more than pleased with what Phil and the Kobe have put together with this team, this season. If it all ended now I would still be very happy. That being said I think everyone (exception maybe goat cheese) can now begin to see the potential this very young team is going to have with more playing time together and a bunch of salary freeing up over the next couple of years. This great Lakers franchise is going to be back up where they should be, at the top of the NBA.

BTW I think Cuban is a great owner too. They are now ranked at 2-1 to sin the West. I never thought I would see the day.
