My Father loves to talk Ireland so I just got him on the phone...
He said it IS becoming accepted over there of late.
& it did start towards the North & has trickled its way down.
However he still says many in the family laughed at him his last trip..when He was the only one with his Beers in the Fridge!

Actually when I was typing my earilier response, this is what I was thinking. I figured he was just in a different part than where your family is from, and that it's something that has taken hold around the north/Dublin. |
