He's going to get 4 games under the NFL's criminal conduct policy, regardless of whether or not he was enrolled in the substance abuse program. It's very similar to what happened with Warfield - he wasn't suspended for the alcohol, he was suspended for the conviction. One more screw-up and he misses a season. |

Why isn't he interested in being part of the team? |

I don't like the possibility of the 4 game suspension anymore than any other person, but it is very hard to find players who play with the ability and passion that Allen does. |

I think either way you win. If he plays great, if you trade him he should have some real value.

Turning into a real douche.... thinks he's money now.

so what's Jared Allen worth, Parker?
a 6th? |
If he doesn't want to work out this offseason and is just going to roll into training camp and punch the clock, we don't need this year with him anyway. What a guy you want on your team would do would be to continue to work out and be a professional and give this year a real effort. I'd take the draft picks instead.

Allen had one that he was on a probation / education program to have it down graded to something else, but then he got his second arrest so the judge gave him both convictions. next arrest could be his third conviction, but sometimes that third arrest, depending on how much time goes by, can be another probation scenerio. To any event he's one conviction (not neccesarily one arrest) from being a felony. |
