If Holmes files papers he will have to repay the Chiefs atleast half his signing bonus........he isn't filing any papers he'll continue to say this till his contract expires.

Ponder that for a minute.

that's fine...but why does it annoy you that people think he could come back?

Priest maybe could be #3 and a good locker room presence. I don't want a nacho man in the booth.

The article said that if Priest retires, they'll work out a settlement. That means he can pay back any amount from his bonus. Or none of it.

Just as one example, when Deion Sanders retired the first time, he was planning to hold out from the Redskins because he wanted out of there. Only if he held out, he'd end up losing like $6 or $7 million of his $8 million bonus if he did. So he retired instead and reached a settlement with the team where he only paid them back like $2 million. Half of half of his bonus. And that was a situation where Deion had blasted the team and said he wanted out, a tense negotiation. Hardly like the situation between Priest and KC.

If Priest decides he's done, they'll have a press conference with hugs and kisses, and DV will probably show up and bawl. They aren't going to make Priest pay back a bunch of money. And he already restructured his deal to practically the bare minimium.

nothing like looking at the glass as half empty though, I think that's all he can see. Maybe his hair gets in his eyes and thats why everything looks cloudy to him......

technically true ... but Holmes was a different type of back. A more complete back. Holmes may have gotten a bigger % of his yards catching the ball, but he actually gained MORE yardage than LJ for the more part.

Holmes Total Yardage

2001 - 2169 yrds
2002 - 2287 yrds (14 games)
2003 - 2110 yrds

Lets say for shnitzengiggles that Priest were to be ready to play and even show up during camp, do we keep him and Bennett as our backups? Keep four RBs with Ross? Run the Anomaly into the ground with 500 carries when 31 and Bennett both get hip pointers in the same game?

Halfcan 04-14-2007 05:15 PM

PH will only come back to KC to clear out his locker.

Iowanian 04-15-2007 07:51 AM

Its time for him to go, either way. He's 34, injured thrice, and isn't part of any long term sollution or team improvement.

I think he knows he is done, but he's being a dick to keep his money.
