But they are tame in comparison to what my parents generation may have unleashed in abit of anger. The difference is now we are aware of what that type of talk on a continuous basis long term can do to the child.

I would agree with you 100%. But the father/daughter relationship is very delicate and complicated thing. You want your daughter to be strong and self confident. Few fathers would agree that calling your daughter a pig will accomplish that.

Seriously though, he's been through a bitter, bitter custody and divorce battle with his ex and his daughter. It's been going on for quite some time. From what I understand, he called her several times that morning but she didn't pick up. This evidently infuriated him further which coincidentally made him leave this sort of verbal tirade on her voice mail.

The fact of the matter is- this is a private issue and I am disappointed in the media for even posting it. The media lately have been nothing but vultures and have been displaying an awful lack of civility.

Had Alec Baldwin been a conservative activist instead of a liberal one, the story would be "Actor and conservative activist....." blah blah blah.
