Amen! I thought someone took out the trash, but apparently autism wind was left behind.. :shake:

Carl has botched this beyond belief. Miami called his bluff and now he is sitting with egg on his face, backed into a corner.

Will Carl really keep Trent on the roster as a 9 million dollar back-up? If he doesn't, he shows the world that he just got made a fool of by Miami. If he does, then shows the world he is even more proud than he is stupid.

Ship his ass to Buffalo, or Oakland...for a seventh round choice if you have too. :)

Why the hell would Buffalo want a QB, I've seen a few people mention them.....really I want to know why they'd want one.

Trent Green couldn't even play there.......his arm isn't remotely strong enough.

I really dont think so, a 6th rounder? pfft just cut him rather then give in. Some QB will go down in Training camp. Maybe Miami goes with Pep if he is healthy. Trent will have no where to go and have to accept a trade or get cut and be out of football. Miami is going to have to do something once TC comes. Just hold on to his ass as long as possible, IF we get nothing, then so what, it was only a 6th rounder to begin with. I think we already hit on our lucky late round Draft pick for the next 5-10 years anyways.

Hard to negotiate when you are asking gold prices for lead. You guys just can't handle the truth and the truth is noone is interested in Green (37 year old with 7 mil a year contract) unless he renegotiates and the Chiefs management wakes up and relizes his worth.

You forgot to mention Trent will be 45 next year.

Does anyone else smell the irony in this post?

I still don't get this. Everyone expects to see him in a Dolphin uniform this season, but isn't there a good chance we will keep him? It's not like he is a washed out veteren QB. It doesn't make sense that we aren't considering him as a possible starter given where we are in the negotiations. I still think we should have him be our starter if he is hands down showing he's a better QB than Croyle and Huard. If we have cap room we should try to make it work with Trent rather cutting him and giving him up for nothing. As much as I dislike CP, I have to agree with his strategy here.

How the eff is Green gonna run an offense manned by a bunch of kids who are clueless about how great he used to be?

Thats basically 100% correct. The Fins are going to probably suck anyways. A 37 yr old QB isnt going to put them in the playoffs.

Peterson isn't going to let them "win" this though, either. If he becomes a Dolphin, it won't be before training camp.

Forgive me if this has been asked before, but does anyone know the difference in salary cap hit, if any, between releasing him June 1 and releasing him the day before the regular season?

if they are rebuilding then why did they pick up Culpepper last year or Joey Porter and Keith Traylor this year?
