There's not a lot to tell.

What am I supposed to say?

Well... I've never been in a position to fire someone.

I'm a good employee, so I've never been fired.

Hell, I've never left a place on bad terms, either.

Just put out a bowl of antifreeze.

Two. I've found that it's easier if I start crying partway through, because then they feel sorry for me.

The only people I have ever felt sorry for are those that gave 100% and just couldn't get the job done.

Gotta love that. Some employee's think they are bigger than the company.

I don't personally fire - my wife does the dirty work. But we had one employee that walked off the job, mid shift with no explanation. 2 weeks later, she called back to see if we were hiring.

I told her yes, but not her.

Only fired a couple. The first one was a long time employee of my dads and he was 50 and I was 25. My old man stood behind me. After a point I got the job of laying people off at the end of every summer. I hated that. It's always "why me and not the other guy?"

That was the toughest! I have fired around 30 over the years, flat out enjoyed some of them. Lazy guys who missed work often and goofed off when they were there were fun to run off. I hated laying off guys when things got slow. Lucky for me I have a job I love and do not have to deal with that crap anymore!

They could get semen right in their eye or something. And if you've never got the chance to fire someone then how many times have you been fired ? Just wondering.

I picture you hard to work for for some reason.

Probably between 75 - 100, most of them when I was in the restaurant business. They were usually teenagers and didn't care about losing their jobs, which of course is why they lost their jobs. It's lots worse firing adults with families, especially when it's not through fault of their own.

I once had to fire a guy who was a real good friend. I fired him at the end of the day, then we went to the bar and got drunk. He thanked me later when he found a new job that he was actually good at.

fired 2 people, one of them was pretty difficult, the guy was married and just had a kid, was almost overly nice but had quite a bit of sarcasm at the same time, but just awful performance and I suspected he was stealing company goods, so I just started writing him up on anything and everything possible, performance, back 1 minute late from break, etc until I had a third and final, he took a week off for time with his family and when he came back I told him to meet me back in the conference room and he really nicely says 'oh sure' being friendly and I think oh shit he has no clue.........informed him that his performance the week prior warranted a write up and that its time to part ways. Told him to take a seat and I'll explain why this occured since you seem so surprised, he stormed out and said there was nothing to talk about.
