Butler play third? He has a hard enough time at first which is the easiest position to play.

don't count the royals out in FA. they came close to signing tori hunter, and i think the non-action at the dead line this season really shows how close the front office thinks they are. i'm not going to slit my wrists if tex/sabathia don't end up signing here, but i think it might be more of a possibility than you're admitting right now.

btw, i think a lot of royals fans would need a towel to wipe their tv's with. maybe it could be a promotion.

that was my thought too. as usual would be 100+ losses. i'm thinkin this team is close to turning the corner. 2 more yr of progress and the could be pushin for the play-offs.

Wow, that's pretty much crazy.

Greinke can be a #2. The kid has an ERA below 4, he has dynamite stuff and is still only 24. There's not a team in baseball with a #3 that good, let alone a 4. TB may pull that off, that's it.

Meche a #3. He's a good pitcher, has been a great pitcher for 2 months now. He's occasionally lights out, but not consistent enough to be a true top of the rotation guy. He's the definition of a #3 starter.

Bannister a #5. Innings, keeps you in most games. He's a born back of the rotation starter.

You guys need a #1 and a #4. The 4 should be an innings eater that can give you league average performance; A Jeff Suppan-type.

That said, the Royals are still screwed until they get a new hitting coach. They've wasted 2 seasons of development on both Gordon and Butler. Shealy's busted, Teahan's regressed and Aviles will do the same if they don't get someone else in there soon.

I agree with most of this. I think Greinke is a #2 now with #1 future. Meche I think is a servicable 3 or 4 when hes not playing well, and when he's hot hes a servicable 2.

I do agree with this, however. We have seen a decline in our hitters the longer they stay in the majors. Whoever is handling it down in AAA seems to have a magic touch though. They brought up Aviles, Butler came back a new man and they are consistently developing strong hitters.

40-10 run to finish the season.

Probably win the division.

ROFL

And I'm bitter about the Royals...

My current thoughts are that I'm glad we beat the Yankees.
