Unfortunately, I'm an English major. In addition to the textbooks, we have to buy all manner of supplemental novels, books of poetry, etc. :(

I save hundreds and hundreds of dollars by utilizing MOBIUS, MO's collegiate inter-library loan system. I just check out the majority of textbooks and supplemental books.

That is unfortunate. :D

So far:

Junior-Senior History Seminar: Exploring the West
Elementary Logic
Intro to Economics
Classical Political Theory
Campaigns, Communication, and the Media

I also want to take Constitutional Law, but I don't think I'm signed up for it. If I get into that, I'd drop probably Campaigns, Communication, and the Media.

I also want to take Classical Civilization, but I'm definitely not signed up for it. If I get into that, I'd probably drop Intro to Economics or the Seminar.

I did the same thing you did, I took all the fun classes first, Now I am stuck with the crap I could care less about. But hey I will be done in the spring of 2009!

You mean the subject-matter classes that will become the core of your career and work for the next 40 years?

If I had remained an English major, I would have completed school on schedule. But I switched it up a bit late in the game and went with Economics.

I had one semester that pushed me to the brink.

I student-taught a developmental English class, had a prof that had us read Dickinson to no end, and I realized I was only 1/4 done with the foreign language requirement of my degree. Then I quit.

Rausch 08-18-2008 12:22 PM

My preference was the Tues/Thurs schedule. I had to go 'till 6pm but hey...

That is most definitely the way to go if at all possible.

Fri, Sat, Sun, Mon off every week fucking rules.

I wish classes were that easy, i take a shit ton of notes on cpu and accounting but its so damn BORING....it's hard for me to stay interested. I've wanted to do CPU related work just because the money is there. I hope someday i can get a job related to sports or movies with my cpu background. My gf say's i should try to get on with ESPN (not in front of the camera) but behind the scenes shit.

What is your major? History i assume?

Yeah, History education and criminal justice is my minor.

What do you plan on doing with that? Be a teacher? My friend has a history degree from Mizzou and he is still working at walmart, something is wrong with that picture...

I told him he needs to try to teach

I don't know why history professors have required books to buy. Every history class I've taken I have never used a book. I take that back, I used my Ancient Greece book because it was online.

I'm going to teach high school american history or world history and prob try being a coach. If that doesn't work out I can use my criminal justice minor degree and become a cop. Or, I could teach during the school year and do police work during the summer and winter break.

I worked with this moron who supposedly had a Masters in history and was still working at a sporting goods store "she liked working cash registers".

Last year of my MBA program, and I'm pretty much on cruise control at this point as I'm only taking two classes this mod - Leadership and Law & Finance of M&A.

I only have one book, but we also have classpaks that are basically $50 each for 20 photocopied pages, and you can't resell them.

Total dipshit on her part...i think my buddy will eventually make the move, he has been with walmart for 10 years (been there since 17) and is hoping to be a manager and make 6 figs....he barely makes over 30k now...

I think he'd make a great teacher/professor, he loves history.
