That's cool. We(AT&T) have to do a lot of the storm damage here, but we aren't getting sent to Texas to help them clean up.

Good job? Sounds like it should be.

It will be once I learn more. I've worked for the company for almost 10 years, only more on the production side of things. Now, I'm responsible for indexing records that we have a few hospitals scanning onsite. The images get sent here to get indexed before going into the data warehouse (where coders and facilities logon to get their records).

They went to New Orleans about 2 weeks after the water went down and done costruction down there, my son said they had to sign a paper stating that if they got shot on the job they would not hold the cable company responsible . They slept in a tent and red cross brought water and stuff to them. My son said the smell was really bad down there from morning to night he said you went to sleep with the smell of death in you nose, he said it was like you could almost taste it. I was kind of frightened for him while he was down there, I am glad they are not going back to new orleans.

so your like putting in old hospital records? So if a Dr. needs to look at a old CT scan or something they just look it up on the computer? Something like that?

I never liked Texas anyways. Besides, the sooner their phone lines were fixed was the sooner that Claythan would be back online.

That's part of it, yes. Or they can contact their Medical Records department, and they can login and get the information needed. Paperless is coming, and it will be here before we know it.

I worked through a temp service while I was in Mo. putting in medical records for a while. Right now here in the hospital we do all our charting on the computer and any tests run blood test to xrays and MRI's the results are sent via computer. Its about all paperless now.

So honest question here...Shouldn't you be watching your patients and shit instead of sitting on Chiefs Planet? I'm sure there's something you could be doing...
