Guess that luxury tax isn't hurting too bad.

what does he project to do 35 homeruns 100 rbi 400 obs above average defense? If they were spending that kind of jack you better get pujols. My guess this is all knee jerk from not making the playoffs

It doesn't impact their decision-making at all. |
What I want to know is who decided, 1000s of years ago that their last name was going to be Teixeira???

&*(#ing Joke
This sport is a joke. It will make it that much sweeter when the Royals sweep their ass next year. Write it down.

I wish there was a way to fix the broken economics of baseball. It would hose the Red Sox too, but honestly, the sport needs the fix. The current system is just silly. |
I really wish MLB would kick out the ****ing Yankmees and Red Sox, then they could play each other in every game, ESPN would explode with delight, and the rest of baseball would be interesting and competitive.
Better yet, I wish their ****ing planes would crash in mid-air, hopefully right over the new stadium. 4321 |
Just when i was thinking there might be a reason for me to watch mlb this season...Nope. I'll watch the inevitable Yankee choke in the post-season and everyone will blame a-rod, but the preceding six months of New Yorker insufferability will be far more trouble than it's worth.

Wonder if the Yankees are still in the Manny hunt. Last I heard they were thinking of 3 years at $25MM per.

The funny thing is that such over the top greed and excess like this is going to end up forcing MLB to add a salary cap and/or 100% revenue sharing.
It's just like the greed on Wall Street - the guys took it too far until it blew up, and now increased regulation will put an end to the exorbitant excess. |
