keeps Clark's hands clean

Or Clark may want to leave the football decisions to those who know something about football.

But I'm sure the speculation makes you feel better.

I don't agree. He's actually showing a potential GM, that he values their OPINION regarding Herm.

Are you suggesting that a potential new GM might want to keep Herm around?

Lets hope that whoever the GM is, his list of top coaches aren't already taken by the time he is appointed.

No. I'm suggesting Clark doesn't want to decide Herm's fate without he and the GM being on the same page about the future of the franchise.

Let's be patient here.
We should see something happen very soon.

I'm sure Clark is looking at a playoff team for his choice, with that said, it likely means a coach will also come from one of those teams, which means NOBODY can interview them without permission currently. I'd prefer to wait and get one of the better coaches, than just settle for someone who's looking for a job. We'll have this taken care of in the next few weeks and I think we'll be better served in the long run.

If the talking to Marty stuff is true, no he hasn't. I don't call Marty a fresh set of eyes.

What's the hype around Pioli any how? Is it cuz he's good at ****ing other teams in the draft? Or is it because he's from the patriots organization? The patriots aren't exactly a role model for drafting, which is what we want most right? Someone who is good at building a franchise from the ground up? The pats don't do a great job at finding there own talent, they find vet Fa's.

I think i would rather have Eric DeCosta

Eric Decosta @GM
Steve Spagnuolo @HC
Mike Waufle @DC
Chan Gaily @OC

Bring in Suggs and Haynesworth, Draft Stafford/Bradford and a MLB in the first 2 rounds, find another OLB and RG RT in draft and or free agency

And im a happy little chiefs fan

No way. He screwed up. You don't rebuild with Carl and Herm. He should have fired both of them last year. One year into a rebuilding plan and we rebuild again. This year was a complete and utter waste.

I have been saying that for quite some time. If you are going to do a COMPLETE REBUILD, one must REMOVE the GM and HC in order for a COMPLETE REBUILD.

You cannot rebuild with a GM and HC with at least 2 years left on their contract. That's dumb. This one is on Clark. He had the chance to do it last year, but for whatever reasons, he didn't do it, and it's costed him a year.

I would guess CLark is going to let the new GM make those decisions, simply to let everyone know he isn't Daniel Snyder and the new GM has full authority over football decisions. Frankly, I would conduct business the same way if I'm going to delegate authority.

The Chiefs have split the job into two parts. That could preclude him from being given the opportunity to talk to the Chiefs. Clark may have asked permission and been denied.

The job has to be a definitite promotion and not in any way a lateral move, for the Patriots to be forced to allow the Chiefs to talk to him.

Too early in the process to whine already.

Extra Point 12-29-2008 01:15 PM

Time for Clark to pony up the ice and fire Herm.
