My point is... The fact that they're high draft picks hardly makes them worthy of having been drafted there or any good for that matter.

Ryan Sims was a former #1. And he sucks ass.

Which one of those players is truly worth their salt?
Hali's a middling Defensive End at best and we know very little about the other three.

I remember when people liked Tamba Hali and would get pissed off at me for saying what you just said.

Yeah, I hope that's the case.

If it's not Dorsey, then, Hali, McBride and others shouldn't be putting down firm roots in the KC area. .

Well, Dorsey's was a rookie, McBride and Tyler were second year players who barely saw the field in year one, Hali was the most seasoned, in his third whole year. That's not exactly a lot of experience to build on. They should be better in '09 by default. You'd hope.

Mecca I was one of those people.
It's time to tell the truth about that guy AND Derrick Johnson though.
They're both starters in this league, good serviceable guys, but have and likely never will live up to their draft picks.

I'm not so sure that we can depend on them to get much better.
I think the two DT's will improve. How much remains to be seen. Move Tamba back to his natural spot and he should be okay... I'm not sold on McBride.

We need to treat the D-Line like the QB position.
We can't assume ANY of these guys will be the ultimate answers there except maybe Dorsey. And that's only because he's just a 1 year player to this point.

My first thought was that the retaining of Gailey as OC means the Chiefs really aren't that much in love with Stafford or Sanchez in the first round and there is a distinct possibility that Thigpen will be the starter this year with Croyle being given one more chance to stay healthy. Lord, I hope I'm wrong. :cuss:

Dorsey definite hope and potential. McBride and Tank should still be able to develop.

But Hali is what he is. He's the DJ of the line, and that was absolutely a good comparison.

Where's the line from Herm about this team being 85% finished? ****ing idiot.

this basically puts the lie to the "Herm is a great drafter"....

Pioli and Haley must think this roster is total and complete shit....which, it actually is....but i still can't fathom keeping krumrie....no one has improved under him..no one, unless you think Tank is some great DT....

and if we're keeping Gailey just because of Thigpen then I am on warp speed to pissed.....

Not time to give up on anyone yet.
Hali's a good serviceable DE in this league.
We should temper our expectations with him at this point and hope like hell we can coach the others up.

Agreed and agreed.

**** you for even bringing up the possible Thigpen angle. I hadn't even begun to fathom this possibility. Right now, I'm operating under the assumption that these people aren't complete ****ing idiots.

That's what I was trying to say. He deserves to be in the rotation, but he's basically just a guy.

Tank should be okay, if they can keep him motivated. I'm not sure Tyler has a position, he may be a tweener that doesn't work anywhere. Or he may be the next John Browning - not a star, but really useful across the line.

I'm fine with Hali, but we still need a rush end of some kind.

CoMoChief 02-17-2009 06:37 PM

Well, see here at Chiefsplanet, people seem to think that rookies should immediately become probowlers.
