I'm an animal lover and abhor what he did, but the guy went to prison and that's what society has deemed to be an appropriate punishment for it. By law and by society's standards, he should be able to come out of prison with a blank slate. A blank slate and an amazing ability to run the ball. I wouldn't want him as a QB, but would consider him as a mutant QB/RB/WR kind of guy.

Tell that to the kid that steals a pack of smokes at 18 and can't get a job in the financial industry at 40.

Not for me personally. I work as a credit manager, and could never have that position with any crime of dishonesty on my record. I do have a friend though who is a financial guru that is working in construction making less than half of his potential because of a class C misdemeanor he committed 15 years ago. And we wonder why the reoffender rate is so high? Not everyone has the morals my friend has.

The point I was trying to make is, this being the land of 2nd chances is a fallacy. Too much liability.

MIAdragon 05-31-2009 12:57 PM

I can see him as a wild cat/WR/KR_PR guy not as a qb anymore.

Gambling and professional sports. It's not going to be an easy fix.

Man, I am genuinely surprised by the responses in this thread. I'm a dog lover and owner and I would gladly take Vick on the team as a slash type of weapon, especially for a 7th rd pick.

The guy has done more time than any one person would have served for similar crimes, will have the ongoing problems of being a felon for the rest of his life and people still want to punish him further? He did the crime and he did his time, isn't that what society asks for? RayRay and Leonard Little both killed people and where is the PR nightmare and backlash regarding this, THAT is what I find more disgusting than anything. Little has been in the league for years since killing a MOTHER and it appears to be a forgiven or at least forgotten thing.

i understand the POS served his punishment. i still don't want him on my team for any other reason then to heckle the shit out of him. what happened in VA was only possible because he financed it. we're not talking about a minor crime, it was a felony. and quit bringing up ray lewis, this argument is not about him, and if i had my choice, he'd be banned from the league too. if you've seen what fighting dogs are put through, from the breeding to the training, its absolutely horrible. no, a message needs to be sent to all the dumbass gangstas coming into the league to leave that shit at the door. get new friends and find new hobbies, this ain't the nba, and if you **** up you're done. end of story. stupid ****ing people....

i'm a fan of eye for an eye justice. lets strap him to a rape rack, and let the biggest baddest dude, penetrate him. then we can remove any defense he may have (in the dog fighting world they use bait dogs, with all their teeth removed so they can't harm the prize dog) lets tie his hands together and let mike tyson pound the shit out of him for practice. then when we're done we'll just kill him through either electrocution, or we can drown him. which ever is more convenient to us.
