Not me. I have more than half a brain. If the rest of you want to play these silly little games, be my guest. People that get all happy about winning a playoff game a year are the same folks that set their standards low enough to never do anything more than that.

A playoff game don't mean shit. Never has. Never will. If it meant anything, they'd give you a trophy for it.

That might be easy for you to say, considering your team has won a Super Bowl.

The Chargers haven't ever won one. They won an AFL Championship 23 years before I was born, but its not easy for me to be proud of that.

Sure I want a Super Bowl more than anything else, but only 1 team can win every year. I'd rather have playoff wins and be able to have good memories for the rest of my life than having to think about all the shitty years we had.

Charger fans complaining about injuries is pathetic. They only made the playoffs last year because of the injuries Denver had last year.

Yeah your guys QB had an injured pussy.

Guaranteed if Merriman was there all year it wouldn't have even been close.

Not to mention the only reason you guys were in it is because of Hochuli.

Even though Denver was given a win last year by Mr. Hochuli...if that game went the way it should have, the Bolts would have been 9-7 and easily in first place of the shittiest division in football.

"Ooh, we won one more game this season than someone else". That's not something to hang your hat on. Winning 14 games in a year, at least that gets you a fun ride till the end. But for too many Charger fans, winning 1 playoff game a year means more than winning 14 games and going on a fun ride that ended too soon.

People put a completely illogical amount of worth on winning a playoff game.

I got nothing against you, Buckin. I completely understand someone like you holding onto what you do have, simply because of something like age. It's the larger audience that has this absurd fascination with winning a playoff game in football (Charger fans are just easy targets due to so many being borderline obnoxious). I never hear anyone in another sport bragging about getting out of the first round. There is a slightly better chance of making the postseason in a league like the NBA, but the worth of a playoff win between the two leagues is still well out of proportion to the value fans place on it.

Dude for a four or five week stretch we were missing our 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th string safeties, our 1st, 2nd, and 3rd string LB's, we went threw 7 RB's, 2 TE's, Champ Bailey tore his groin week 5, Elvis Dumervil broke a bone in his hand the first game of the season, and Brandon Marshall was playing with an injured hip all season.

We were decimated by injuries last year.

And your coach got fired, your QB demanded a trade, and your Stud WR is acting like a Douchebag.

Maybe your organization isn't being ran that well.

By the way, those injuries weren't stopping the Broncos from winning that Bills game last year. I believe it was Cutler's INTs and Marshall's dropped balls.

Anyways, my first post in this thread was about this upcoming year. I'm excited.

ROFL Not exactly. There has been some drama with the regime change, but overall I think it's a well run organization. The change from Shanahan to McD has been more difficult than I expected... but, I don't exactly see this as the Titanic.

Really? Sure they were fine in the regular season but in the playoffs, Rivers played with a torn ACL, I thought this was common knowledge?

Tomlinson had to sit out both years in the playoffs because of a Sprained Knee in 07, and a TORN GROIN in 08. Gates had a sprained toe in the 07 playoffs (hard to run), and a case of plantar fasciitis last year. Merriman was obviously out all year last year.

Our injuries have hit us during the playoffs the last 2 years.

I'm aware of all of what you've typed...

In that 07 loss to NE, VJ and Chambers still had over 90 yards each... Rivers threw for more than 200 yds and what cost him were the 2 INTs.

SD's defense let Maroney nearly avg 5 yds a run, going for 122 yds in that game. Turner started for SD, but it's not like he was some spare...

The NE defense was just that good. Add in the near 150 yards rushing... and that's why SD lost.

In the Divisional game the previous week, SD gave up 24 points... similar to the production that NE had the next week. SD won by 4... the difference being the 58 yd TD catch from Sproles.

Otherwise, it was a similar game by SD in those 2 weeks. Rivers had TDs of 30 and 56 yds in that win over Indy... he was hurt, but he was playing fine.

They were just beat by the better team against NE.

SF and Denver are actually tied overall the past 25 years including playoff wins.

I see what you did there. You just made up numbers to make it seem like you were right. The Broncos have won 243 with 15 playoff wins. The 49ers have won 245 with 19 playoff wins. Would you say you're completely full of shit then?

I would say that one of us miscounted. And I am not about to go through that and try and recount again.

I understand. Adding 25 numbers together can be strenuous. Your 2nd grade teacher will show you how to use a calculator when school starts back up. Just get back to us.

Good numbers for both teams, especially if you add in the SB appearances/victories for both. Wonder what KC & SanDiego's numbers are over the same period? I'd think KC would have a larger number of regular season wins than SD but less post-season.
