How many years has this franchise and fan base waited to get this type of Quarterback( assuming he turns out great )?

If Matt Cassel get's "Brady'd" or worse; this fan base will go to Defcon 1 in the blink of a snap. This is a bad idea.

Dude I hear what you're saying. I just don't agree. 60 million dollar QB's earn their money when they aren't 100%, which is almost every week in this league. If there was a structural issue with the knee that had a higher chance of re-injury, they wouldn't put him out there. But again, as a sprain you don't have a higher risk of re-injury...it's simply how much pain you can tolerate. I don't care who you're playing...you could always get hurt. If he can go with a cortizone shot, he goes.

Just play the sonofabitch. If he dies, he dies, and it's on the management who wouldn't buy a 2 dollar policy to protect a 60 million dollar investment

Were I Haley and Cassel isn't 100%, I'd start Croyle and, depending on how he performs, bring Cassel (based on the score) or Thigpen in off the bench. If we're fortunate enough to establish an effective, successful run game, it's .... MOOT!!!!

EDIT: Remember, our QB has to be mobile. To survive, I mean.

Fax where have you been? There will be very times throughout the season where a NFL player will be 100% healthy especially a sprain which takes along time to heal. Sitting Cassel would contradict Haleys message and could easily lose the team. Just think if the Chargers would have bench Rivers when he played with a torn ACL. Since Rivers played he became the leader of the team.

Chiefs won't play him if he isn't healthy enough to go. He will wear a knee brace.

The reality is that most players aren't 100% for much, if any of the NFL season.

Dude, we can't just sit him until we feel like the opposing defense poses no threat.

If so, he'd never play this year.

It's the regular season - if he can go, he damn well better go.

Now, if he gets killed, it's on Pioli's shoulders for not protecting his investment. But not playing him because of concern of injury is weak.

No shit. Anyone who thinks otherwise is a gigantic vagina.

ROFL at you actually mentioning someone else "latching on" to ANYONE's post. That is pretty much all you do on this board.
