I haven't been to arrowhead since the 90s. Even if it's not the same I can't wait to get there on Sunday. It's going to be a blast.

The game is considered a sell-out capacity crowd and it's brand new renovations, so nobody knows what to expect. I predict the place will be electric on Sunday.

Who exactly is considering it a sellout, since you can still buy 20 tickets together in the lower quarter of the upper deck? :spock:

I'd like to think people would show up to support the dramatic changes, and it's opening day at Arrowhead, and there are renovations, etc.... there are reasons to go, but watching a game against two of the worst teams in the league for $100+/person to just park and get in the stadium isn't one of them.

For those going, I certainly hope it's a better show/atmosphere than what I'm thinking it'll be, but I think I'll save $100+ and 90 minutes of commercials, and turn on the DVR around halftime.

...not to piss on anyone's Cheerios or anything...... :(

The crowds were pretty decent for the pre-season games. I expect the stadium to be almost full on Sunday.

I've seen the Chiefs play at Ravens Stadium, Fed-Ex Field, Bengals Stadium but nothing beats seeing the Chiefs play at Arrowhead.

Forget the nay-sayers. As an out-of-towner, there is no experience like seeing the Chiefs at home. Kick back, enjoy the game, scream your head off (while the defense is on the field, please) and root the home team to victory.

Maybe people are spoiled living in KC, but I'd have season tickets if I lived anywhere near KC. Getting to see the Chiefs live once every three or four years stinks. Nothing beats actually attending the games.

Two years ago when we were 4-3, I got two LL sets to sell for 500+ dollars for the Packer game. This year, I got 1600 for 2200 worth of STs.

I think we're spoiled by the 90s (and 2003). I've been to a few home openers, including the first game after DT died, as well as the 2003 playoff game against the Colts... and it's a lot different now. I went to the Broncos game a couple of years ago and a couple games last year, and it's just not worth the money, IMO... especially since prices and success have gone in opposite directions.

People say you have to go to NHL or NBA games, but I say the same thing about the NFL.... I'd much rather see a football game from the first few rows of the upper deck and see everything, than see it in such a narrow view on tv. Yet, I find myself spending $50/week to see college football games live... eh.

I've had season tickets since '93 and I still love going to Arrowhead...even though it has changed. I still get goosebumps when the crowd yells CHIEEEEEEEEEFS at the end of the national anthem.

SenselessChiefsFan 09-17-2009 03:01 PM

about 20K less fans than there used to be.

I will be there myself.... very much looking forward to the trip.

They are't getting blacked out for what that's worth, so while they may not be sold out, they will be close it looks like.

Don't let any Raider fans put any body paint on you. It's laced with LSD or some such shit. It might not absorb into your system until the drive back home.

I'll be on the lookout for them [email protected]. From looking at the forecast I just hope we aren't sitting in the rain all day.
