In addition, the Giants and Eagles rank #1 and #2 in passing defense, while the Vikings and St.That tells me that Rogers has been in that system and with his receivers a lot more than Cassel has. Familiarity with his receivers and knowledge of how they run their routes will lead to a higher degree of confidence in terms of getting them the ball.

It also tells me that GB is leaning more on Rogers because they, remarkably, have a worse running game than the Chiefs. (#22 versus the Chiefs at #18.)

It also tells me that the Packers have played against the following teams, which have their defensive rankings listed:

Minnesota: #1 sacks, #18 defense, #12 passing
Chicago: #3 sacks, #14 defense, #23 passing
Cincinnati: #4 sacks, #17 defense, #26 passing
St. Louis: #19 sacks, #19 defense, #19 passing

Whereas the Chiefs have played against:

Giants: #1 defense, #15 sacks, #1 passing
Philly: #3 defense, #9 sacks, #2 passing
Baltimore: #8 defense, #9 sacks, #23 passing
Oakland: #18 defense, #12 sacks, #11 passing

Basically, Cassel's numbers versus Rodgers numbers are pretty relevant considering the defenses that they've gone against.

However, Jamarcus Russell is purported to have a huge arm. Same with Jeff George. Kyle Boller as well. David Klingler.

It's not really a prerequisite in determining the overall success of a quarterback and team in this league.
