Not unless soccer or his bottom line is involved.

If the goal was to create a historical reenactment of the Steadman years, then it is definitely working.

Adam Sandler. Because he can also entertain us at half time with witty, acoustic guitar songs before we all slit our wrists.

Ryan Succop truly is the lonely kicker.

"Extra points...field goals...at your service....

So I kick that ball and I hope it goes straight, this team really sucks but I escape Chiefs' fans hate!"

Chiefs Might Not Bring Back Todd Haley --
Sun Dec 13, 2009 --from FFMastermind.com

•Fox Sports' John Czarnecki reports Kansas City Chiefs HC Todd Haley is not guaranteed to return next season.

http://www.ffmastermind.com/quickbits.php

don't know if that was mentioned elsewhere today.

I doubt it. I guess it just depends on how things really are behind closed doors.

Crennel and Weis both get mentioned for Coordinator roles but in Crennel's case i could see Haley opening next season w/Haley on a short leash and Romeo ready to take over.

If Crennel took over as head coach I'd slit my wrists. We're all looking and hoping so bad for a winning team that we think that adding RC will make our defense better but the fact is that BB is the key behind New England's defense. If Romeo was the reason for the success on defense, then Cleveland should have shown steady improvement under him, but they didn't.

Cleveland's defense under Crennel:
2005 16th in yards, 11th in scoring
2006 27th in yards, 22nd in scoring
2007 30th in yards, 21st in scoring
2008 26th in yards, 16th in scoring
2009 (after) 31st in yards, 25th in scoring

New England defense over the same period:
2004 (with RC) 9th in yards, 2nd in points
2005 26th in yards, 17th in points
2006 6th in yards, 2nd in points
2007 4th in yards & points
2008 10th in yards, 8th in points

Yes, they dropped after he first left under the guidance of Eric Mangini. Then when he left and was replaced by Dean Pees, they came back up.

As far as Haley goes, Arizona is averaging 24.8 points and 360.9 yards per game. Last year under Haley they were averaging 365.8 yards and 26.7 points per game. Not much of a letdown.

I'm hoping "lotsa" isn't the answer to the original question.

Huh, why do I get the feeling Clark might go to his "fail safe" coach in Marty

Because Marty is a coach that will fill the stands, generate an assload of revenue with little cost.... Plus Marty wont win you shit, but the fans will be behind him every freaking sunday which ='s $$$$$$$

Makes good business sense to me... High reward vs zero risk of championships.

RippedmyFlesh 12-14-2009 07:23 PM

Ty Law is still active

Gonzo 12-14-2009 07:48 PM

Haleys not going anywhere. I could see some high profile assistants being added though.

Man, it would be just like Gunther returning...on a white horse.

You know the true fan would be lapping up Marty's return.

Hell, I'd sit back and smile...until the playoffs.
