And when you combine it with some of the other head scratchers from the course of the season, you would have to think Clark would be considering making a move.

I keep thinking of it this way, had we scored and tied, the Browns would have put 400 yards rushing on us, and Harrison would have set a rushing record of over 300 yards on us. I cant imagine that record being broken any time soon either, so we would have to live with that for a long long while.

Like I said earlier, my feed on the streaming didn't allow me to see the play. I read about it here on the Planet, but thought it couldn't have been as bad as guys here were saying. Then I saw it last night on ESPN, and I have to say I laughed as well.

But whoever it was, he was doing all he could to get Cassel's attention outside of shooting him with a paint ball. Anyone see who the receiver was?

One of my co-workers was at the game and he told me about the same thing this morning. He said it was Chambers, COMPLETELY UNCOVERED, at the 10 yard line.

The worst part of the play was the fact that Cassel through it out of the endzone instead of keeping it in the field of play, but it seems more appropriate to blame the QB than the coaches on that.

And another thing... a Hail Mary is designed for a play where the QB is to heave the ball up as far as he can possibly throw it. Sort at the edge of his range for how far he can throw the ball. Our Jr High QB can reach the endzone from the 26 yard line. Our JV Junior High QB may have to chuck up a Hail Mary from that distance, and definately our pee wee QB would be at the edge of his range, but our local NFL QB should be able to throw a pass that every single defender within 30 yards doesn't have time to converge on and signal a fair catch on if you know what I mean.

i love having a dumbass QB, hope he learns how to play better

He probably didn't call the play. Somehow, I just can not see Manning (or anyother NFL QB for that matter) throwing a Hail Mary from the 26 yard line. Worst play ever.

I was gonna ask... how can a pass even be called a 'Hail Mary' from the 26? Surely an NFL QB should be able to get a pass 26 yards down field on a rope. I mean Jesus, that's not even as far as a throw out to the flat on the wide side of a CFL field (65 yards wide). In fact it's not even close. How can you pay someone 10 million a season and not have them be able to throw the ball 26 yards down field without making it look like they punted it?

He can't even be scared of Haley. It's not like he's gonna get benched, because if there was a chance of that happening, it would've already. There's no excuse for not simply disregarding it in the huddle or audibling out of it at the line. It's not like crowd noise was a factor.

Rain Man 12-21-2009 01:58 PM

I was reading Haley's lips, and he initially called for a fake punt, but then changed his mind.

Rain Man 12-21-2009 02:00 PM

Didn't Grbac spike the ball on fourth down once? I think that has to be the worst play ever. At least there was a miniscule chance of success with the fail mary. A penalty or something.

 Fugg if I know! But it was most definately a Hail Mary. Until I saw it, I thought the same thing. No way could it really have been a Hail Mary from 26 yards. Damndest thing I have ever seen outside of the fake FG by the Raiders.

That is just a bonehead play by Grbac. This play had to be called by someone.

Ah. Good clarification.
