I don't know. Not on the immediate horizon.

Good luck to her. Hope something comes around.

It's not looking good. She said the knee had been in a lot of pain prior to her collapsing, and she finally went down. They sent her to the doc, who said it's not her fault, she had no way of knowing that her knee just wouldn't be able to stand up to the rigors of basic and he doesn't feel like she'll be able to do it. Said if this wasn't an injury she'd already had they'd do everything they could to keep her, but considering she's already had a problem with this knee he thinks it's chronic and won't be fixed. She's basically sitting at the med hold while they decide what they're going to do with her.

Damn. I'm very sorry to hear this, Mr. Fire Me Boy!

I have a feeling that, in the long run, things will work out for the best, though. Try to stay positive, man. You never know what's around the corner.

That's what happened to my sister-in-law at Marine's basic training. She broke her ankle and they ended up getting discharged. She did get some good benefits out of it though. Hopefully your wife can get better and then just recycle back into another flight.

Neither of us is holding our breath. The doc has already said he thinks separation is likely.

And since this is a pre-existing injury, not sure about benefits or anything like that. Again, not holding my breath.

prayers on the way

Sorry to hear about this. Godspeed. I have a bad knee. They suck. If she needs surgery, isn't the military responsible?

Not sure since she's already had surgery on it once. That's the issue right now, and that's why all the question marks. Doc said if this was the first injury to it they'd do everything they could to keep her.

Everything's just up in the air right now.
