Mays, to me, is an oddity in terms of athletic ability vs. suitability.
With the crude thinking amongst most D Coordinators and position coaches in the NFL, I would think he wouldn’t stand much of a chance of proving his worth.

I'll take "mean as shit" from a middle linebacker every single time. Bill Romanowski went to five Super Bowls and won four of them and was hands down the meanest ****er of his day. I'll take a guy that scares the shit out of people on the field. Ray-Ray, Urlacher, Butkus, Nitschke, Romo, etc. All the great ones were just mean as hell. I hope that they draft Spikes, and keep him in a cage, feed him raw meat and poke him with sticks. This defense needs an attitude.
