Sherron will be a 2nd round pick in the draft if he's lucky. He doesn't have size for a PG, defense, or above-average vision. His draft stock relied entirely on the perception that he could run a team and that he had clutch abilities..and both of those things are in major doubt. I expect he'll catch on with some NBA team, though.

Aldrich will a lottery pick. His offensive game isn't polished enough (and maybe never will be), but his great defense is something that NBA teams target out of their centers. I anticipate he'll have a long career as a defensive specialist, but I don't see him ever scoring much more than 10 PPG. He would be crazy to return to school next year (of course, I also said the same thing last year).

Henry is undoubtedly a 1st round pick this year...I would be surprised if he stays. Unless he becomes a better slasher, though, I'm really not sure how much he can do at the NBA level. Maybe a Brandon Rush-type player at best? Still young enough to improve.

Hell, this team is so deep that they would probably be the preseason #1 if only one of them comes back.

Being ranked #1 all season doesn't do much during march now does it? :D

I'd agree with most of this. I too think Sherron will catch on somewhere. Maybe for just one contract though.

EDIT: It should be acknowledged that I know nothing about the NBA draft. I thought it was dumb as shit for Wright to declare, but I was wrong.

I'm glad to see the back of Collins and Aldrich.

Will be interesting to see what Henry and Marcus Morris do. I wouldn't be surprised to see Morris change his mind once the season fades a little and reports of his draft stock start to come out.

Aldrich should have left after last season. His stock will be down a little bit from last year (with the lack of offensive development). He'll still get drafted in the top 15 and have a Joel Pryzbilla-esque career.

It's always my opinion that guys with work to do offensively should go as soon as they are a lottery pick. It still leaves open the "developmental" window and keeps their perceived potential higher. Look at Julian Wright. His offensive game hasn't developed at all in the NBA. Had he stayed two more years at ku with no further offensive development, he would not have been drafted where he was. Because he left early, he got drafted extremely high based on potential (even though he wasn't, isn't, and never will be an NBA level shooter at SF).

The jayhawks will be good again next year, even if Collins, Aldrich, Henry and Marcus Morris all are gone. Probably not top 5 good, but good.. Withey, Robinson and Morris will be a tough rotation to touch up front, and make up for the lack of experience in the backcourt. Robinson and Taylor will have to do some MAJOR growing up...

Collins will be a second-round pick, get cut in training camp, maybe play overseas...

and probably weigh 300 pounds by the time he's 30.

I don't see it as anything to be glad about. Both players made enormous contributions to this team in their seven combined years, and each were a part of a NC team. It's actually quite depressing.

I learned that lesson a couple weeks ago when my mom started having heart problems. Put things in perspective for me. Sucks that they lost and I wish they would have gone further. But, it's just a game - and it's a game that will be played again next year.
