Tebow

It took way too long for these replies to show up.

Harris will be on the left side, Beadles on the right, although, I wouldn't be surprised to see Beadles get a shot at left tackle depending upon the time frame in which Clady can return. Beadles is more of a power blocker than Clady and might actually be a better fit for the type of offense that McDaniels is currently running, which is a hybrid zone power set. It's similar to the offense that Beadles played left tackle for at Utah where he was an All-American, Walter Camp and first team All Conference.

Clady was a perfect fit for the zone block scheme that Shanahan employed, but I wondered if he was going to have the same level of success under the scheme that McDaniels was going to use. Beadles could have the same type of success as a rookie that Clady had. It really all comes down to the type of system as it relates to the type of player. I give McDaniels credit for at least doing the research and drafting guys who will fit his system better. (I also think that Pioli and Haley did a much better job of that this year in the draft than they did in '09. Time will tell, but it looks like the Chiefs got guys who will be able to contribute right away. I also think Jackson will end up as a good player, especially if he can get some decent NT production next to him, but other than him and Succop, I wasn't thrilled about the '09 draft.)

Fox 31 Alert: I just got off the phone with R. Clady. He spoke briefly. Clady says that he's hopeful he will be "ready for training camp."

Clady to Fox31: On t/ characterization of his injury, R. Clady said to me, "it's not that bad." Gt impression tht meant glad it's not worse

2 sources told Fox31 they heard Clady had some type of procedure on his knee. When I asked Clady did you have surgery he replied "yeah."

When I asked Clady which knee it was, he said "left." The call then ended understandably. The Broncos will not confirm Clady's or info

I tendon injury does not heal quickly no matter what you age is. Especially when it is in the knee of a very large person.

Yeah, all you have to do is google the injury and there's all sorts of information out there... it's nothing that really heals differently based on age, especially when you're a monster of a human.

Devide the pounds by his age and you get his healing time. Clady was 325lbs and 23yrs old. So 325÷23 means he'll be healed in 14 days!!!!!! /KnoMo

ROFL That deserves some rep.

BossChief 04-28-2010 02:50 PM

He will be the next guy McDaniels runs out of town.

Injection of cortisone before playing will do wonders.

This is the day the Tibow has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it.

Tendon peoblem for a lineman? Not a question of if but of when. They'll medically manage it for as long as possible then replace him.

Dave Lane 04-28-2010 02:57 PM

Its no wonder Hali got by Clady. I mean when you have to play both tackle spots its a tough blocking assignment.

dirk digler 04-28-2010 02:59 PM

Ouch

Per a source with knowledge of the situation, the injury is believed to be a torn patellar tendon. The source says the injury occurred while Clady was playing basketball.

If that's the case, Clady likely will miss all of the 2010 season. A first-round pick in 2008, Clady has started all 32 regular-season games of his career, and he was named to the Pro Bowl and the Associated Press All-Pro team after the 2009 season.
