I don't think people completely understand precisely how brilliant that line is!

It is the most compelling line in the entire album and illuminates how "Pink" realizes this mess he got himself into. And although it's too late, that door offers some sort of hope or salvation for him, but it's no longer there...or was it ever there?

A great example of how a single line in one song can sum up an entire album. Good choice. :thumb:

There are so many to choose from that album, but that one really stands out.

The Wall is brilliant on so many levels. I had to grow up before I truly appreciated it.

My favorite Floyd line has to be "Wave upon wave of demented avengers march cheerfully out of obscurity into the dream".

It's not a lyric, but David Gilmour's slide work on "One of These Days" makes that tune my favorite Floyd track of all time.
