Shit, I didn't realize Stanzi was #13. That number has bad juju. You know, cuz it was Steve Bono's number.

Someone's closing all of our 8th grade childishness threads. It's gotta go somewhere.

I was thinking about that last night. If I made the cut, and I were Stanzi, I'd be for bitching about getting a new number.

In that case, you should all swap phone numbers, then meet up somewhere and swap spit during your circle jerk.

OK, just one for tonight.

This play impressed me simply because Stanzi throws the ball with such great anticipation. The receiver is making his break right when Stanzi starts his throwing motion. That's pretty impressive for a rookie QB drafted in the 5th. Stanzi also leads the receiver nicely. 20-yd gain on a 5-yard pass.

It also helped that the defender was still squared up when Stanzi let it fly. At the same moment, the receiver bocked the defenders line of sight to Stanzi as well. When things click like that, good things happen.

Not when Cassel is throwing. Really I'm not a Cassel basher. Just from what he has done in PS.

Dont let it go unnoticed that he thread that pass in between two defenders in the spot to let his guy be the only one that can catch it while also leading him.

Something we haven't had in KC for YEARS:

Accuracy

What Cassel did/does/is going to do, has absolutely DICK to do with the play we're looking at.

Not to make the comparison, but that Stanzi throw reminds me of what people used to say about Montana "he's two or three seconds ahead of everybody else."

To do that at NFL game speed is pretty impressive IMO. Stanzi must have developed the ability to react to coverages extremely quickly in college. It's almost like he's looking at the coverage, knows where his receivers are supposed to be, and throws the ball based on that information, not whether or not the receiver is open.

I haven't seen enough of the kid to make that determination yet but he does to read coverages pretty well so far.
