So they didn't cook the burgers past 155 degrees. I'll bet most of the hamburger-eaters on CP don't cook them much further than that at home. It sounds like the tainted meat is more to blame.

I've been to other fast food chains many thousands of times in my life. Never gotten sick or had somebody with me get sick. Been to Jack In The Box a grand total of 6 or 7, and twice have had people get so sick they were out of commission for the entire day. Separate states, separate years. This really validated for me some of the hysteria.

I ate at a Runza place back in 2010. It was awesome. Why aren't those places everywhere?

Right?!? I'm not sure how they make them, and couldn't reproduce it at home, but they are really tasty.

I don't know why they've never grown beyond Nebraska. They have great burgers as well, it's by far my favorite fast food joint.

Bad luck I guess. In my younger days I had a party house with 3 other dudes that was right next door to one. Without exaggeration, between the people that lived there and our friends probably 30 or more individual meals a week were consumed from there without one incident.

The story said the supplier was Vons though. I guess I see it like this: Those toys with lead paint and the dog food with melamine from China were all sold by stores in the US, but who got blamed for the issue? Chinese manufacturing. Most times the source of the problem is where the blame lies, not the last one to handle it. Though in this instance they potentially could have minimized the problem by cooking the burgers more thoroughly.

You can't forget the bacon cheddar potato wedges.

Best fast food ever. My favorite place. We think they made my five year old son sick earlier this year. But I'm insisting we blame it on something else and try again cause their food is too good.
