Stay strong and win both your fights.

Man this place helped me when I was literally shaking with vicodin withdrawals. Gave me a place to vent and get advice and support. I'm not 100% done yet, but I've got it so much more under control and am on the right course now. So you will get through it. Life likes to shit on you sometimes, you just gotta fight through it. Better times will be ahead of you. As hard as that can be to believe right now.

"Fall down seven times, get up eight"

Someone here has that in their sig, I think. Hang in there, and don't give up on yourself.

Damn man.

I knew there was something up the other night.

If I might ask...what type of cancer do you have?

Lots of CPers here that may well be able to give you thoughtful advise on possible steps that can be taken.

It is a cycle of having a couple, and then a few more later, and being far from drunk, but still havign had 5 drinks in a few hours. Keep that up, and then start tossing in some drinks with friends where you have 8 in a couple hours. Go home, have a couple more with a pizza. '

Take that example and you might think it sounds fine if you aren't needing to be "on the wagon" but for some, that becoms a habit that expands to being every day life, and then they get to where even those 8 beers with friends hardly effect them, so they have to drink more to get the same buzz, and the cycle grows. For those people....the only way to stop the cycle is to never take a drink.

I knew a guy from my hometown that donated blood every single chance he could, and his reason was that it was the only way that he could feel anything off of a 12 pack of beer. So he would have a carton of cigaretts and 12 pack of beer cold and waiting for him after each donation. That is the type that needs the wagon to get things on track.

Good luck Smed. Talking about things helps, so vent away.

WOW. Great story. Pretty ridic. Thanks for explaining.

Two years is a long time. You did good. Sorry to hear about the cancer, at least they do have a lot of options for treatment now. It is not a death sentence. Pick yourself up, dig in your heels, and start again. You just did two years. You can do it again.
