The only thing I'll miss is the playoffs, which is the only time they attempt to play real basketball anyways. October through April is just one big exhibition. |
I don't miss ESPN dangling off LeBron's nuts, either.

It would still be pretty damn high.... |
The NBA isn't playing?
Who knew... |

Hmm, I guess I'm in the minority then. I have a team I enjoy watching, and have been a fan for about 20 years. I'll miss having pro basketball to watch after I watch football all weekend and Monday night.

Reminds me of that George Carlin quote...

Don't overlook the huge following the NBA enjoys overseas, especially in Asia.

Id like to know where they polled these people from because i can garantee you fans in NBA cities will miss it. Of course the majority of KC area people dont care. duh..
In reality though, even most NBA fans wont truly miss it until football season ends. Not many people cared about NBA games in November/Dec in a normal year anyways. |

If 24% miss the NBA, thats quite a lot better than I thought. Imagine if the NFL lockout continued and wiped out the season. If they asked this same poll about the NFL, I'd guess that at least half would respond that they don't miss the NFL (including city folks who don't like sports, women, gay couples who go to musical theaters every month, etc). Would that be bad for the NFL? No, I'd be thinking "oh wow, holy crap, a full half of the country miss the NFL!" This poll would need to be closer to 90% or higher before I'm thinking the sport is in serious danger, rather than something more mild like the players needing to realize that modest pay cuts will be needed. |
