Why run another play in that situation? It really doesn't make any sense to.

Plus you give your defense a little longer rest.

Maybe I'm ****ing crazy but that pisses me off.

And if Haley had Brady or Manning or Warner in his day you would have seen the sense of urgency you wanted to see.

You would have made a better argument for why they were running Battle to the outside.

In every single game listed below we had a reasonable amount of time (contrasted with field position, though the Denver game might be a reach) to get points on the board before the half. Three of which we lost. And the other in which the score was close enough to be considered a threat during halftime (OAK 0 @ KC 14)

KC 17 @ SD 20
We run two pass plays in 28 seconds and one of them is a screen to the smurf.
KC 28 @ OAK 0
55 seconds on the clock. Two run plays and then two pass plays which are good for 28 yards.
MIA 31 @ KC 3
Scoreboard says 14-3 and we have 3:03 minutes before the half. Matt's 2/3 on this drive for 48 yards. Scrambles for 7 and takes a sack. Three running plays for 15 yards. Note: We had all 3 time outs and the two minute warning.
DEN 17 @ KC 10
18 seconds on the clock... We run to the right side with Battle.
More than half our games we've been in this situation... We haven't scored points even once.:doh!:

Iconic drops a truth bomb.

Okie_Apparition 11-16-2011 11:35 PM

Maybe Rex will stop in after Denver. Give Thomas Jones a foot message & returns to his NY form. & he rips the Pats a new one

Good lord this thread is dumb.
Every team does this, every week.
I can't wait till we pull an upset so you can make Haley into Moses again.

So we didn't score in 18 seconds, and we didn't score in 28 seconds?
These are real shocking observations.
The stats you give for the Oak game tell absolutely nothing.
the MIA situation is the only one that even makes sense to post.

Hammock Parties 11-17-2011 07:00 AM

It's not that we didn't score.

It's that we didn't even try.

It was the end of the 3rd quarter, what part of that does your mind not register? The defense has been on the field the whole damn game.

Running a play before the end of the 3rd was a huge need?

Lets call a spade a spade, you are bitching just to bitch or like many believe here, you really don't know shit about football except making videos and looking up stats.

Seriously, yes, that's ****ing crazy. You're down three with the ball. You've got a quarter to go. What's the big deal?

Compare to the Eagles at the end of the Super Bowl against the Patriots. WTF was that? They even repeated that mistake recently. I like Andy Reid, but I dunno what that is, and IMHO it's a fire-able offense to be doing what the Eagles did in those situations.

This? This is nothing.

Maybe it's happened, but I'm struggling a bit with remembering any "let's rush to get this play off before the 3rd quarter ends" situations for the Patriots if they were down by one score.

THIRD quarter. Not halftime. Not end of game. THIRD QUARTER. This isn't basketball, where you try to get ANY shot off before end of quarter because it might go in. If the third quarter ends you go back out there in the same situation as when you left.
