Put it this way, the Chiefs haven't a first round pick at the QB on the roster since Blackledge in 1987. Even when they pick up other teams quarterbacks it was always a low round player. 24 YEARS without a single first round pick of anybody's at the QB position.
I wonder if any other franchise has that drought?

No. Saints are the longer than us in drafting a first round QB, but they had Jim Everrett for a few years who was a first round pick of the Rams.

I recall that Adams was signed after a pretty good year in the WFL in 1974. But yeah, after looking it up, he was indeed drafted in the 14th round (by SD) in '73.

Honestly, if Girlbac was an 8th round pick I have to admit he overachieved.

He ****ing downed us as a franchise but he overachieved...
