I would suggest that this place breaks everything within moments from politics to national news to NFL-wide. It's not an ideal format. There are better aggregates but none quite so entertaining.

We get too many troll posts for this to be a real news site.

Twitter is probably the quickest news source for most everything, but this site has the quickest response to news that I've seen. You may have wade through a bit of tedious trolling, but the most thoughful I've see are here. Both homers and jaded skeptics voice their concerns. Not mention that posting here will definitely help you brush up on your debating skills. People here won't let you get away with unsubstantiated crap. I like that.

Anything big going on in the world today I usually hear about first on CP. More or less because CP is my first stop when I wake up.

CP is a good place to go if you need to see pics of a fat chick ASAP.

I went with "no" just because it's pretty tough for people who aren't on here all the time to sift through all the BS to find the actual "news." But in terms of getting information quickly after it happens, this place is probably as good as anyplace except Twitter.

The problems there seem to be related to the re-post police. That posse is utterly out of control.

A lot of good, topical, newsworthy information winds up buried in lengthy threads on account of re-post reluctance ... an affliction from which I suffer, by the way.
