We've had ours for about 11 years. It's just the same now as it was back then. We have a queen and love it.

Back then you didn't have a choice in soft/med/firm so I couldn't tell you how they compare with today's TP's.

I got one a few months ago. It takes a little while to get used to it, but I really like it now. We have the medium.

I was worried about this also, but it's a non-issue for me.

The first couple of times you sleep on it, you'll worry that you made a huge mistake. Soon after, you'll wonder why you didn't spend the money on it years ago.

Also, how does it compare to sleep number beds? I am noticing that the sleep number bed is actually more affordable.

Sleep number is the worst crap bed of all time. I have a temperpedic and numerous other, ummm testers think its fantastic. Including myself.

I bought a king size Dr. Breus bed last November and it's the greatest thing I've ever spent money on. We thought the TempurPedics were too squishy and we wanted something firmer. The Dr. Breus bed (it's made out of latex foam) has that same sort of Tempur Pedic "squish", but it's more firm. It doesn't sleep hot at all and it was cheaper than a Tempur Pedic (the king with good springs was about $3500).

Also, when you are bed shopping, get the bed you want. Forget price - if you get good sleep your life will improve drastically and a good mattress should last for a LONG time.

Have both a Sleep Number and a Tempur-Pedic. Both of them are nice - better than an average mattress and box springs - but neither are worth the premium price.

If you can get a Tempur-Pedic for half off or so, it's probably worth it. Otherwise, I'd steer away.

We bought a new king set in September. We looked at Tempurpedics, but ended up with an iComfort by Serta. Better price (by a lot), different foam formulation is supposed to sleep cooler, and we got free memory foam pillows.

I also sleep hot, and haven't had any issues so far. You won't find much in deals, as prices are protected, but you can get various freebies depending on the store and sale.

Finally, it has a 25 year warranty that only allows 3/4" of depression. A spring mattres warranty is typically 10-15 yrs and for 1.5".

Full agree on the Sleep Number comment. Worst bed I've ever slept in.

Tempur-Pedic rocks. Have one for me and even got one for the kid. BTW they don't sleep hot anymore those were the really old ones.

Mine is every bit as comfortable as the Tempur.

Of course, you have to know how to "tune" it.

And you best be prepared to pay the price. It was a tad more than the Tempur.

I have a Tempur-Pedic and love it

make sure you go to a bed store and lay on one first because they are a very different feel.

they are overpriced all to hell but they are great.

Does it sleep hot at all. That is really the biggest issue for me.

I hear Apple makes a great bed!

I dont have a Tempur but I have a 4" MF pad on my mattress.

It doesnt retain any heat.

Co-sign. I had a memory foam mattress for two years and it was my favorite bed ever. Then I moved halfway across the country and had to leave it behind, which was the saddest thing ever. Now I have a memory foam bed again and oh god I love it. Sitting on it convinced my roommate that she needs one, too (she was previously very pro-coil mattresses, lol).

We have a Tempur, I don't know what the hell kid it is. Kind size, does all sorts of tricks. I told the wife its an old person's bed since you can make it sit up, but really shocked how much we use it when watching TV in bed.

We paid a shit ton for it, but I think its been a great investment. I sleep like a baby. I actually hate to travel because I miss the bed. I know some people talk about getting hot, but that's never been a problem. The bed came with some "cool" sheets or something, they work well.
