This will be the 1st All Star game I've watched in more than a decade.

No not really.

If I am a contending NL team or fan I really do not want to see someone from the Cubs, Astros, or Padres deciding whether my team gets home field advantage

I pretty much agree with this. While the outcome "mattering to someone" now does add some intrigue to the game I think it's a dumb way to decide homefield advantage for the WS when most of the players in the ASG won't even be in the WS. Billy Buter gets a game winning hit for the A.L. which in turn gives the Yankees home field? Puke. I'd rather the N.L. team get homefield than for one of ours to help the Yankees in any way. Or a Cubs player doing the same for the N.L. giving the Cardinals home field? I'm sure Cubs fans love that idea.

How about the team with the best record who's in the WS gets homefield advantage? Teams are tied?... go to tie breakers. It's just to logical to work I guess.

Didn't it used to alternate between the AL & NL (I could be making that up)? I think the current way is completely ridiculous, but I guess getting HFA because it's your league's year wouldn't have been much better. Then again, it's a pretty ridiculous league, considering the fact that all teams don't even play by the same rules.

2 sets. He has/had 4 total in section 137. THEY'RE NOT MINE THOUGH. I don't think he's looking to sell them, his company was just looking for a Royals fan to give them to. I'll get in touch with him and let you know if they're still available.

So my BIL found out tonight he gets to go to the All Star Game in style. Not sure of all the details but he gets to go down on the field the day of and take batting practice and meet a few players. Pretty cool. Hes obviously jacked!

Yes it used to alternate. Now it's a bidding war based mostly on who has the newest stadium or at least spent a lot to renovate.

edit... upon further review you were probably talking about the World Series. That used to alternate too.

He's going to be jealous of me sitting in my living room just hoping the Royals player doesn't lose the game for the A.L.

Heh. So stupid. I remember they implemented that thinking that it would make more people watch because the ratings were slacking. I seriously doubt it's made more people watch.

And I seriously doubt any Royals or Twins player cares If the Yankees or Rangers get HFA.

I'm unclear on what you're calling stupid.

The fact that World Series HFA hinges on the outcome of an exhibition game.

Demonpenz 06-28-2012 08:35 PM

It is a big ass deal. Yes I am jacked
