That's not an unreasonable contract at all.
He probably has 3 years at an elite level left, followed by a couple of decline seasons. They can give him his massive money up front and perhaps approach him about restructuring the last 2 years into a 5-year deal that allows him to finish out his playing years in that 'ambassador' role as they try to re-shape their offense post-Brees. When you have an elite QB, you pay what it takes. That deal is extremely reasonable given Bree's ability and performance in NO. |
