NHL 93...make their heads bleed :thumb:

Or was it 94?

Contra, xmen, MK, TMNT, double dragon, golden axe, nba jam, streets of rage, sonic, super street fighter 2. Those are the ones I played the crap out of, plus madden and that football game that had Joe Montana in a Chiefs uniform on the cover. There was also a kick ass college football game I liked too I think.

Underrated?

I would say it would be a Genesis game I had called General Chaos. Me and my friends played the shit out of this game as kids.

There was a Contra on Genesis?!

NFL 95 was the one with Montana as a Chief on it. I still remember the commercial for it...huge fat guy in stands...talking hot dog...Joe as a new York jet...lol.

There were a lot of good games for that system. Two underrated ones, which I enjoyed but apparently no one else remembers, were Kid Chameleon and Eternal Champions.

Kid Chameleon was basically a platformer with some puzzle elements where the game play changed based on what helmet the character wore. It was brutally long, too -- something like 200 hours with no save feature or ability to skip levels.

Eternal Champions was a fighting game in which each fighter used a different style -- one guy used kung fu, another kenpo, another Jeet Kune Do, etc. It came out around the same time as UFC, and even though its depictions of the different fighting styles were simplistic, it was fun matching them up against each other.

Bonanza Brothers,
Herzog Zwei,
Phantasy Star II,
Phantasy Star IV,
Powerball,
Road Rash 1, 2, 3,
Strider,
and Toejam & Earl for starters.

Also Star Control, Columns, Centurion, Desert Strike, Hard Drivin', Out of This World, Rampart, Rolling Thunder 2, Summer & Winter Challenge etc. etc.

Genesis had a ton of good games.

I only vaguely remember that game. IIRC, the passing game stunk but the running game was unstoppable, which meant Harvey Williams averaged like 10 yards a carry while Montana couldn't buy a completion.

You remember correctly. The RBs would get hit by like 3-4 tacklers and stay on their feet lol. This game also had no crowd ( crowd noises yes). I liked the smacktalk after tackling tho.

I remember this game. Didn't it have stage "fatalities" too? I remember one stage with a big fan in the middle that you could knock your opponent into.

Haha, I'd totally forgotten about that. Youtube delivers. The big fan one you mention is at 2:34.
