I know I'm wrong, but I still feel like such a deal is on the level of collusion.

Yeah, hopefully Jim Harbaugh feels the same way in a couple years...

Boy the worst contracts given by the Chiefs:

Piollis big contract to Cassel

Carl's big contract to LJ

Carl's big contract to Dan Williams

Rank them. It hurts to remember these atrocities.

Atleast before the LJ contract he was actually good

The Cassel contract by miles.

We were stuck with his garbage for a LONG time.

Every team knows Cassel won't be retained.
Every team knows the Chiefs aren't drafting Geno Smith, therefor the best trade partner will be the Jaguars.

Every team knew that the 49ers would not keep A. Smith (not at his salary)
Every team knew that only ARZ had an interest in him
Everyone knew that ARZ was not willing to give a high pick for him

Therefore, we gave up TWO high picks for him.

Using the same logic, if we can find a new GM as horrible as ours, we ought to be able to get a 4th rounder for Cassel.

Unfortunately, there are no fools as bad as our fool. A pity.

Still, it is possible we get a 7th rounder for Cassel.

Was it just me or did LJ start to suck once Roaf retired? Well our whole offense sucked after Roaf retired, which coincided with us hiring Herm if I remember correctly.

This is blatantly false. Makes it seem as if a Matt Cassel, a pro bowl qb, is garbage that you can just pick up off the street.

He's shit, and you know damn well they'll have to go down into the sewers.

LJ was showing obvious signs of decline at the time. A true descending player. But LJ was Carl's Matt Cassel.

He was ok in 2007, but then got hurt. Thats what truly killed him. In 08, he was obviously a shell of himself, but then his career really stalled again when he missed that month or so of games. He didnt like the Pistol thing with Gailey, but he had a few nice runs out of that formation when he came back. Then in 09 he was done and never fully on board with Haley anwyays.

Cassel was the worst contract by a ton. Hell, I'll fight anybody that says Casshole wasn't the worst starting qb in the league the last 4 years. Bring it on, jets/jags/cards fans!
