I suspect that it was a blood feud because someone shot someone's pa. Or more likely it's a drugs or gang thing.

I worked for EDS (Ross Peroe's old company)...Security had a map of steel reinforced paths that light armor could use if the complex was attacked by terrorists.

My first thought when I read "some dude shooting in the park" was that it was some white guy pulling a Charles Whitman (UT Tower shooter) or a Muslim doing his part for the jihad, but when I saw that it was actually two guys and, importantly, the article failed to give a description, it seemed more likely to me that the perpetrators were black (although I guess a coordinated contribution to the jihad wasn't out of the question).
