It must be a sign that I'm getting older that I'm angriest about missing 60 minutes on Sunday.

Sage advice. I'm not making a cool half-half-half-half mil for nothing, after all.

LMAO. Google Fiber is ass raping these clowns. I just had my install today. I've never felt better about leaving a cable company in my life. They can suck a fat one. BTW, Google Fiber is probably the greatest thing ever. It really is instantaneous downloading. No buffering...ever.

Were you without internet during the install? My install is tomorrow, I'm hoping to be able to get some work done while they're here.

Strongside 08-29-2013 05:49 PM

I'm still at the office. Here's a Google-sourced one though.

I had cancelled TWC, but they hadn't shut it off yet...so no. I wasn't at home during the install though so it wouldn't have mattered.

I'm getting fiber-optic Internet, Direct TV, high def with DVR's on all three TV's. NFL Sunday ticket and their premium services all for 70 bucks a month. Locked in for 2 ****ing years.

Suck my cox.

Yeah, it's pretty much required to hate your ISP, but Cox really is that terrible. I had their service for 6 months before they increased my bill from $90 to $100, and there was no HD, no DVR, no special channels, and the internet wasn't anything special. Canceled cable at that point and really wished I lived in the Qwest/CenturyLink part of town.

This thread reminded me to check up on TWC... I have it set to autopay, but you can't trust them not to raise rates month to month.... and sure enough, they had bumped it $30 in the past month. Dropped by a store though and left with a better deal, faster internet, a new modem, a couple of channels I'll never watch, and a refund for the $30 increase. PBJ

I'd probably switch to Google fiber if it's ever offered here, but I don't mind TWC... I now get 30mbps plus some extra sports channels for about the same cost as Google fiber, and rarely have signal problems after some initial issues.

They're clearly capping your upload speed. Bastards. :cuss:

Cable companies losing money to internet tv, so the recoup the money by jacking up the cost of internet.

All that "bundle" bullshit just means they have a hand in it all and will get their money one way or another.

I didn't know they served Bellevue, thought they were only west of I-680. But yeah, I've been with them ever since they were USWest and while there have been hiccups since CenturyLink took over and started upgrading the network I would never even consider switching to Cox. They now have the fiber stuff installed in my neighborhood but I've been too damn busy to get them out here to get it going.

I am stuck with Time Warner with my apartment complex. It's a decent enough service but the pricing is fairly unreasonable. They better work out some deal with CBS before the ****ing season starts.

I have Surewest here, so i told TW to take a hike years ago. Hate those assholes and never want to go back. Surewest has been great.
