In their opinion, these soldiers are being killed as part of God's judgement on the United States for tolerating abortion, homosexuality and other sins. They do things that are deliberately offensive in an attempt to draw attention to themselves.

Funny thing about this. I learned in Biochemistry that Ethanol (booze) is a competitive inhibitor of the enzyme that breaks down ethylene glycol (antifreeze) to its toxic metabolite. Made me think of think of this place.

I think it is even more remote than that. What they do is bad enough, but even within their ****ed-up philosophy, it doesn't make much sense. It is something like there is so much sin (and homosexuality in particular) in America that God is punishing America by killing these soldiers.

The funeral "protests" are really more "demonstrations" where they can say how God is punishing America for its sins and they "celebrate" the death because it is God's doing. It really makes no ****ing sense, but that is their mindset.

I think these people are absolute scum, but I've seen them up close at a few concerts they picketed outside the Sprint Center. People would go up to them and thinking they would kind of prod them into some kind of argument or fight, and they are just eerily polite as they explain how we all are going to hell for tolerating this evil country will live in.

The most bizarre thing was outside the Lady Gaga concert (Yes, I went. Wife loves her.). Tons of flamboyant gays in drag. They would go up to the Westboro folks and have their picture taken with them. Shirley Phelps, a God Hates F--s sign, and a dude in full drag queen mode. The scumbags were polite throughout. It was just ****ing weird.

Don't give them the time of day and don't let them dictate your day.
