Bowe's 2010 season skews his overall production a bit wth the 15 TDs, but overall, I think he's about a 75 catch / 1,100 yd / 5 TD guy on average in a good offense.
He is on pace to have his fewest receptions and yards in a 16 game season, by far. But, again I think it's due to the way the offense is set up this year.
I don't think Bowe is the problem, but I also don't think he's that elite WR to lead a team... I think you bring in someone to balance the other side of the field with Bowe in the lineup. I really don't think that WR is in KC right now, or you keep what you have and get a real TE threat.
Moving Bowe for another guy with similar or slightly better production over his career elsewhere doesn't fix anything or improve anything in my view.
Alex Smith has completed only 188 of his 315 passes (59.7%). Smith has attempted 18 fewer passes than Peyton Manning (who has completed 237 for 71.2%). Think about that for a second... only 18 fewer pass attempts than Manning (in one more game obviously).
It's the weapons around Bowe... they're just not great at all. I think you build around the guy that you recently paid big $'s too and see what happens. But, then again ... Smith has never been a prolific passer with top 12 QB types of stats on a regular basis.
So, knowing that... how do you really think you can fix the woes of the passing game?
